                                            What are Bio-identical hormones?

Bio-identical hormones have the same chemical structure as hormones that are made by the human body. The tem "bio-identical" does not indicate the source of the hormone, but rather indicates that the chemical structure of the replacement hormone is identical to that of the hormone naturally found in the human body. In order for a replacement hormone to fully replicate the function of hormones which were originally naturally produced and present in the human body, the chemical structure must exactly match the original.

After we receive the results, we customize a therapy that works best for you. The 3 Stages of Menopause

                                            Pre-Menopause (PMS) Years
Many women suffer from hormone fluctuations while in their early 30’s. These symptoms may be linked to stress, dieting, toxins and contraceptive use or more serious disorders like infertility and endometriosis. Moods swings, fibrocystic or painful breasts, irregular bleeding, irritability and anxiety are just a few of the symptoms.

                                            Peri-Menopause
This stage can last for almost 10 years for some women and is described by many as the roller coaster years. Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone hormones are fluctuating dramatically throughout the day. This is the stage when many women search for something to balance them out. Some common symptoms include mood swings, night sweats, hot flashes, foggy thinking, bone loss, weight gain, low sex drive, and depression.

                                            Post-Menopause
Once a woman has gone at least 12 months without a period she is said to be in menopause. Some menopausal symptoms caused by estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone deficiency include; hot flushes, insomnia, frequent waking up in the middle of the night, urinary frequency and urgency, vaginal dryness, itching, painful intercourse, loss of skin tone, dry hair, loss of hair, facial hair, and dry mouth. Women lose bone mass rapidly during the first three years of menopause.

                                            Andropause (Male Menopause)

Just as women experience symptoms related to a decline in hormone production as they age, men too experience the same or similar type symptoms. Symptoms develop slowly and include; reduced muscle mass, weight gain especially around the waist, hot flushes, depression, and reduced interest in sex or inability to perform as they did when they were younger. Studies have shown that a decrease in testosterone may contribute to high cholesterol, insulin resistance, and increase risk for cardiovascular disease.
